That is hilarious!

The last time (ha!) our oven caught on fire we were still in a rental apartment (thank god) and had to fetch the fire extinguisher. After that we were afraid that all the cleaning supplies we used to clean up afterwards would ignite or at least produce noxious fumes, so we never used it again.

We still got our deposit back though.

YES that can and did happen to me last year on Christmas Eve. I had scrubbed my house from top to bottom and hubs decided that the oven needed a little cleaning also.

Well the grease from the sausage balls he had made a few days prior ignited and we also had a fire! I freaked and shut off the oven and decided we didn't need a clean oven that bad!

Okay, this may be the funniest thing I've read in forever! I am literally crying laughing. I mean, I'm so glad there wasn't a real fire or anything, but this is so something that would happen to me (including screaming out a bad word in front of the entire family). I love this! Sounds like a wonderful and memorable Thanksgiving. You'll always be able to say, "Hey remember the year the oven caught on fire?" and laugh about it.
