Fifty-two Thousand

I don't think you ever really get too old to have a slumber party. In college my roommates and I would couch out in the living room and watch a movie we had seen a million times, quoting it until our words slurred into sleep. One of those movies was Clueless. I am sad to say that I never knew until today that it was Brittany Murphy who played the adorable girl that Cher and Dionne take on as a "project!".

I remember curling up with Mr. Lipstick one night and watching 8 Mile. I really liked it. I thought Eminem was cool and actually quite talented. I thought that blond girl was really gorgeous too. I am sad to say that I never knew until today that it was Brittany Murphy.

It doesn't really matter though that I have only a vague sense of familiarity with Brittany Murphy because most of all I am sad to hear of a young woman's death during the week of Christmas.

Such a sad story.

I liked both those movies, but I always rather peculiar appreciation for her because of her eyes. I don't know how to describe it, but she had that strong...under-eyelid? You might say bags under the eyes but it was just the way her eyes were shaped so I was never sure it was fair to describe them as bags. But it was a distinctive feature. Anyway, I never liked that same eye thing on me but once in a while I would see a photo of her and think that she looked so beautiful AND she had an eyelid/bag thing going on and I'd feel much better about myself. If she could look good, maybe I was looking good. So, as I said, it's a weird thing to appreciate in someone, but I really was always happy to see her looking lovely!

And she could act. I loved both those movies (Clueless in particular, of course) but didn't really know who she was either. It's like Gary Oldman for me, I never recognize him in films! So I guess I equate that with good acting:)
Sad, sad end to a young and talented life.

Very dad and makes you thankful to be alive I liked her a lot as an actress especially because she had a different "air" about her.

It is a very sad story... No matter how familiar you are with her career almost every girl can remember watching Clueless and wishing they could relate to those girls (I still wish I had Chers closet)
