Shoo Fly...Don't Bother Me

Have y'all seen this?

The news just depresses me these days...the Air France crash, the economy, the journalists being held in N. Korea...that's all it takes and I practically need chemical intervention to nudge me out of gloom and despair. That is why I love seeing the President of the United States successfully swatting a fly, and then picking it up off the carpet. I find that delightfully amusing, whimsical, and giggle-inducing. I will be honest and tell you that after that story, I turned off the news.

Thanks for commenting on/following my blog! I must admit, I feel the same way when reading or watching the news, so I had to stop because it is too depressing...I just content myself with celebrity gossip instead.

Turning off the TV once something has made you laugh is a perfectly fine strategy in my book.

I agree! I try to read at least 2 papers a day- well 1 real paper, as the NY Post is a rag, but I LOVE it! Bein' the sensitive type guy, the news tends to bring me down a bit. Dare I say occasionally a story GOOD or bad, can make me teary eyed, so it's good to find Obama bug stuff. :^)

Me, I just turn to the comics- easy readin'!

Left a comment, as I saw in your profile your hubs a musician. Me too as you can see from my avatar-pic thingie.

Nice blog.

Ha! That cracked me up. Jon Stewart showed it on The Daily Show last night and said he did a Jedi mind trick on the fly. I so rarely watch the news anymore, except to watch Anderson Cooper, my fictional gay TV husband.

Oh, and I have been especially following the two journalists story in N. Korea. I just hope they'll be home soon. Especially for the sake of the one lady's 4yo daughter.

Hope you're doing OK!

I know...it's hard to stay optimistic lately when sooo many people are struggling to hold on to their jobs, their homes, pay the rent, buy food etc.,
I constantly send blessings out into the universe...I am just thankful that we have President Obama...he does give us a little light! The eight years with Bush was scary to say the least--for everyone that is except the upper class~!

Finally, Obama does something right, and PETA has to go and give him hell for it. Geez!
