When they got home tonight, JBB completely melted. He threw his clothes on the floor and told me that I was "silly." Only intervention by Mr. Lipstick and the threat of losing his newly acquired Power Rangers made JBB semi-compliant through bathtime.
I was angry at JBB's meltdown, and of course, we couldn't ignore it. At the same time, I was laughing inside because this whole scene seemed like it happened yesterday. Actually, it wasn't so much like yesterday as it was about 26 years ago.
Mommy and Daddy Lipstick took my best friend Ashley and me to Chuck E. Cheese and to see a movie. We even got candy at the theatre. I got an AstroPop.
It was a magical day. When we got home, I had the mother of all meltdowns. I remember it to this day. I still feel guilty about it too. I can only imagine how frazzled they were after all that AND my friend spent the night too. Apparently Chuck E. Cheese is still the single most exhausting activity for kids. I guess some things just never change.

Chuck E Cheese will do that to you. I am so happy my girls have "aged out" of that place.
Bless his little worn out heart! All that playing is hard on a little one :-)
My hubby REFUSES to step foot in CEC, ha. Your hubby is a great man!
We were having meltdowns all day yesterday. Must have been something in the air....
I don't know which circle of Hell CEC is, but I'm pretty sure it's somewhere near the Walmart circle of Hell.
We've never been there, but I do know that post-activity, post-sugar meltdown very well. And, oh, it isn't pretty. I send sympathy. And coping skills.
Oh the Astro pop! One of my all time favs!
Sorry about the meltdown, Chuck E Cheese will make even the sweetest go a bit crazy when they crash. But bless your heart for going!
I still have meltdowns. The last I had was a public one, during our Christmas party when we played dirty santa and some asshat brought Preperation H and some Vaginal Cream as his "gift". I was so angry and very verbal about it.
So, I understand a small one having a meltdown. You just gotta laugh at it on the inside and mark it down in the history book.
Holly
PS- I have never had an astropop.
That is too funny Miss Lipstick, we can almost picture it in our mind! God love Mr. Lipstick... he's now perilously close to sainthood!
