Hump Day

I have always thought that euphemism for Wednesday was really funny. Especially when prudish people say it. Especially since it makes me think of something else entirely.

I am so tired today. I was up all night with Pretty Girl as she cycled through coughing, waking herself up, and crying. I eventually slept in her room and relaxed to the lovely sounds of the Spa channel on XM/Sirius. Of course, I have decided that it's time for a massage. Just curious...has anyone ever been to one of those budget spas? Here's an exampleIt looks quite generic and relatively un-chic, but I think that some econo-pampering might not be a bad idea. At this point I just need a room without florescent lights, an old Enya CD, and someone to get the crick out of my neck.

I may get that massage over the weekend, but since it is only Hump Day today, I tried to relax with a little of the boobe tube. (heh heh...that's another funny one). I tried to watch thisIt is the most boring sequence of events ever filmed. Thank you PBS for airing the cure for insomnia. (For sufferers of chronic insomnia, the two disc DVD version is available for purchase).

And finally...presenting some decorating inspiration

I have been to a budget spa ;) It was great! Very basic, but I got a wonderful massage (and it was cheap too).

Last year my sister gave me a gift card to Natural Body Spa. I used $65 towards a 60 minute massage that was excellent. And I even had enough left on the card for some waxing. I'm not sure if you'd call Natural Body a budget spa... but I think that if you can make the time and you've got a little bit of cash to spare then you should go for it. You'll feel much better. You will be able to take even better care of your family. And you may even feel better at work.

I haven't been to Massage Envy yet but I am tempted. I have heard good things about it.

I got a gift card to Massage Envy just recently for my Bday. It is for and 1 1/2 hr massage it says the value is $76 which includes the tip.

It is a new place here and looks nice from what I have seen of the outside. I am planning on doing it soon. My favorite part is they have hours that are better for me since I can't go during the week days.

Okay, you've SO got me laughing out loud here at work. I get a kick out of the hump day thing too.

Sorry to hear Pretty Girl is sick, the coughing is NO FUN.

Definitely go for the massage and let the rest of us know about Massage Envy...

As redneck of a Christmas tree as that is, it sure does look good! Even better if it was lit. I've seen something similar on the internet made almost entirely out of Mountain Dew cans. It actually looked really neat.

Hopefully Pretty Girl is better and Mom is getting some sleep tonight...we hope.

I would like any kind of massage! We don't have budget massages in our area, though.

Hey- I love the beer bottle tree. It's pretty and I bet it is fun to make!

oh my lordy, is that a christmas tree made of boxes?? Sheez, that should be in an art gallery!
and do the cheapo spa - Jean Godfrey (lucky mag beaut. ed) wrote about how she goes to the NJ stripmall salons all the time for a facial, mani-pedi, the works, and she loves it.

I always thought that the spa was the spa- and it was the "education" of the employers that cause us to pay the big bucks for their treatments.

who knows.
