Many thanks to Mama2hre for her comment on yesterday's post. She is the most coveted of all voters right now...Undecided in Pennsylvania.
I can see how it would be easy to be undecided in a battleground state. So much of the candidates time, energy, and dollars are devoted to those states rich in electoral votes. Citizens are bombarded with political rhetoric day and night. As a resident of a solidly red state, I admit I'm a little jealous at missing out on the political intensity of living in a battleground state.
Here is Mama2hre's comment:
"Living in PA and STILL undecided! I need a post on "Why I Should Vote For McCain" :)
And here is my response...
Even though I love that John McCain is a war hero, an unconventional politician, a powerhouse of foreign policy knowledge, I am voting for John McCain because of his belief that government policy should not be intrusive on the lives of its citizens.
The notion that the government needs to regulate the minute details of a society in order for that society to be effective, productive, and fair is comically demeaning.
The notion that "the wealthy" should be penalized with an ever-increasing tax burden to offer services to the remainder of citizens is absurd to me. The government is not a guardian angel or a rich uncle.
To mandate by law that resources be taken from those who have more and distributed to those who have less is merely a way to insure the destruction of a free society. It only encourages the citizens to depend on the government while discouraging the level of initiative and hard work that is required to attain success.
In the most general terms, I believe that political liberalism is condescending and harmful to the citizens, profoundly inefficient, and a breeding ground for corruption. The FannieMae and FreddieMac fiasco is a perfect example.
I think John McCain agrees and that is why today I was proud to cast my ballot in support of him.

great reasons and facts and insight as to why one would and will be voting for McCain. I was sorry to see that your friend decided otherwise...but, that's her right.
:(
Well said...
AHHH! Ok, so I posted on my blog THEN checked your's. THEN I went back and deleted my post! Now I'm REALLY confused! I so don't like a leader thinking fear-based ads can scare people into voting for them! I'm entering into a time of deep prayer until Nov. 4th. I love voting and stress under the weight of this decision. Thanks for the great points!
Great job on the explination!
I know how you feel about missing out on being battle ground state. I live in a solid blue state and it's almost like saying republican here is using a bad word.
Very well put
Great post, and I agree 100%
That is very well-said, and I agree with you completely!
Preach it sistah!!!!!!!! I'm in PA, VERY decided, very MCCain. I read an article yesterday that summed it up in one sentence: "Obama's entire campaign is built on class warfare and human envy."

The liberal media bias is nothing short of outrageous.
How can anyone be undecided now? I think if you're undecided, you're not really paying attention very well. You're either for lower taxes for people making $40k or you're for lowering taxes of companies make $40m. You're either for gov't ruling the personal life (gay marriage, abortion) or you're for gov't ruling the boardroom (rolling back Bush tax cuts, tighter regulations). You're either for offshore drilling at will or you're not. You're either for everyone having the right to healthcare or you're not. You're either for continuing the war or you're not.
I respect a lot about John McCain, but I do not respect his choice for running mate. I do not respect his flip-flopping on many of the issues he ran on in 2000. I would have probably voted for him in 2000 over Gore. But he will not get my vote this year.
Sounds like your friend was already decided if she was asking for a post on why she should vote for McCain. If she is still undecided, PBS has been running a very balanced program called "The Choice" by Frontline - gives a pretty good summary of each man's vision.
just found your blog.... well said about McCain.
come visit me... I have something for you.
Here here! Well put, couldn't agree more!
Xoxo,
Lulu
Very well stated.
One blogger I read every day did a nice post on character. Not sure where the editorial came from

That is why I'm not voting for Obama.
Very well put! How Obama can try to claim that taking money from the people who have earned it and giving it to those who haven't isn't Socialism is beyond me. Isn't that the definition of Socialism?
I think that alot of Obama supporters are only thinking of themselves and not what is best for our country as a whole. Under Obama's tax plan, my family would pay less in taxes. However, I am NOT okay with what would go on in the lower tax brackets. Do we really think that people who earn below a certain income level should not only pay no taxes (that's fine with me) but that the government should give them money on top of that? Money that those in the upper tax brackets have earned by working hard for it, only to have it "spread around" to those who haven't?
I really wish people would open there eyes and their minds and take a good look at this crap.
Very well put - thanks for posting!
Sorry. In my rant, I accidentally misspelled "their" as "there." My apologies.
Melodie...no worries. I *love* your rant.
Momx2...I had to LOL b/c Mother Lipstick said the same thing this morning regarding undecided status.
I don't understand how anyone could be undecided at this point??
Very well said!!
I'm wid'ya, girls!
Here's my problem, I like John McCain. I like him a lot. BUT I don't like how he changed what I liked about him and started catering to more of the far right. But that's how it goes in politics. But I digress, my biggest issue is Sarah. She scares me. I'm not a fan. If he had chosen someone else, I would be faced with a hard decision tomorrow.
I was a huge Rudy supporter. I was very disappointed to see his campaign collapse. He shared most of the same political ideas that I do. I like his socially liberal stance on a lot of issues. And I liked that McCain was very similar with him on a lot of things as well.
That being said, I'll be casting my vote for Obama tomorrow, but I live in SC. We're going red regardless of who I vote for.
I totally appreciate your intelligent opinions. Just so you know. :)
I think our current financial collapse is bipartisan - not just Clinton but Republican administrations encouraged the free market economy and deregulated the mortgage industry. I like to keep it simple and blame it all on Greenspan!
great points, too bad there aren't more people who paid attention to OBVIOUS detail. Just found your blog, will be visiting often, like whatcha have to say!
