Boo Hoo Sniff Sniff

I love birthdays. I think the celebration should last at least a week. I think you should have your favorite food and go to your favorite places and be pampered while doing your favorite things. After all, this is the anniversary of your entrance into this world, and your birthday should involve at least one favorite something, anything.

Mr. Lipstick doesn't see it this way. He thinks this is childish, ridiculous, and bothersome. He becomes exasperated and I become sad.

This year is...(drumroll)...the same. So I have decided to make an executive decision and purchase my own cake. I will even be purchasing my own presents. I will not be wrapping the as-yet-to-be-purchased presents because that is a lot of trouble and kind of crazy. So everyone is cordially invited to my pity party. The mood will eventually be light, and pajamas are as welcome as high heels. There may be preferential treatment at the velvet rope for attendees wearing lipstick. If you bring Sly Stallone to me, then you can just have my birthday altogether.

ETA: Mr. Lipstick just walked in and said, "kids or no kids?" Uh...huh, what? Well, y'all we are going to Melting Pot and we are having a babysitter. Whoo hoo! Is it tacky to say, "Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me"?

I'm totally with you! My birthday is 10/29...and I was just thinking that I needed to start the "big countdown" soon!

When is your birthday?

I am so glad there are others out there like me! I start my birthday countdown each January for my June birthday. Weird, I know. But birthdays are fun!

Maybe we can have a pity party together, seeing how I am pretty sure hubs will have nothing special planned for my big leap into my 30's. That is right in about 20 days I will no longer be in my 20s

My birthday was 2 weeks ago and I agree. This year we were able to stretch it some because we had the family celebration 4 days after the actual day. On the actual day hubby and I went out to one of our favorite places to eat.
But hubby when it comes to his birthday he just wants to take the day off and that is about it.
I guess my family always made a big deal about birthdays so I have continued it into my married life.

Though my dad tries, my mother has always bought her own cake too. Some men just do not get the whole thing I guess. I think your plans to stretch out your day sounds fabulous and I might be taking after you come February!!

Mr. Lipstick told me about your blog- I read with delight. He also thinks I should write because I tell funny stories sometimes before class. I don't know that I can ever live up to you, but I will try. I also told Mr. Lipstick he better do something nice for your birthday- special wives deserve special days! :) Have a good time.

Birthday's at my house last at least a month. A week is not long enough for proper celebration to be done.

Being that you didn't know that, we must extend your birthday pleasure to include all of the next month until October 26th.

If your birthday happens during a pregnancy time-frame, you have to celebrate 2 birthday months. One when you are pregnant and you can bitch about it, and another when you are not pregnant and can indulge in things that pregnant ladies cannot indulge in.

Those are the rules.
Happy Birth Month!
