On the Pole

Now I'm just gonna fess up right here at the beginning and tell you that I found this while googling pole dancing. Oh yes, Lipstick is a little naughty. No excuses offered here-I just think it's cool. Don't you judge me!

Actually, pole dancing classes are the hottest thing at all the chic exercise clubs. I think Carmen Electra (or some other famous enough person) even has a video out there. Anyway, Tara Karina has 28 videos on youtube and they are all amazing. She is self-taught, does not wear clear heels, and is gorgeous in a ballerina kind of way.

Watching her makes me think I could actually do this. I start to believe that it really doesn't matter that I'm pretty clumsy. Mr. Lipstick is not for it because he says it is not classy, would take up too much room, and would be too hard to explain to our church friends. I guess I'll just live vicariously through Ms. Karina. After all, Mr. Lipstick is a pretty classy guy. Thanks to him I have no tattoos and our daughter is not named after Adrian Balboa.

You should totally go to ebay and buy yourself a pole for your bedroom (or living room, whatever).

That would be so much fun to have!

I would even dig some clear heels, and what if they were light up shoes?

Ooh. Mr. Lipstick just might find that he likes a dance pole in his bedroom! No one else needs to know...

I think those poles collapse when not in use. Just saying...one less reason for Mr. Lipstick to complain...

I swear I live under a rock! I haven't heard about this new way of exercising! I have zero grace and can't even seem to walk through a room without bumping something. I cannot even imagine being able to pull something like that off! You go, girl!

I think it would be fun to try!

I hear it is GREAT exercise! Wonder if you have to be the perfect weight to be able to hold your own weight... hmmmm... they show any large women on the pole... hmmm

yeah, I agree w/mitch, if you put it in the bedroom he most likely will change his mind! he's not right about everything, is he?!
although I'm sure the kids, one day, will say in church really loud "mommy's got a fireman pole in her bedroom!"

You know, count on Fashion Herald to completely crack me up, forcing me to lose sight of anything remotely resembling a serious comment.

Shame on you Miss Fashion, for shame! Heh-heh-heh.

I think pole dancers are amazing - look at the way they move and how much strength they need to hold their bodies up and look so graceful. Of course, we're talking about the classy ones. I have forever said that would be the best kind of exercise (though not for me because I'm a huge clutz). And pssst, when G-String Divas was on HBO years ago, I was a faithful watcher - so intrigued by what those girls could do on those poles!

Oh my goodness. That clip looks like ballet and yoga on a pole. AMAZING. Would definitely help to keep you fit. :)
