This weekend, JBB was hugging Pretty Girl and playing with her hair. He said, "Mommy, can we have another baby that looks just like Pretty Girl so we can take care of her too?" That's so sweet! But, no. I am as fixed as a dog from the pound.
So, let's talk birth control. Who does the pill, nothing, rhythm, patch, IUD? Is anyone paranoid enough to use multiple methods? I do, because we are not having any kind of Father of the Bride Part II at Lipstick Manor.
Of course, there's the whole vasectomy issue. Mr. Lipstick cringed and moaned and very nearly had a tantrum at the mention. I didn't get grouchy about it, because I was having a C-section anyway and the snip-snip was no big deal, except that Pretty Girl was born at a Catholic hospital and I had to be wheeled into a surgery suite that the hospital didn't own so that said snip-snip could occur. This was intriguing to me, because I have Cathoholism (definition: a persistent fascination with all things Catholic).
Later in the day, JBB said, "Mommy, can we please have twins so we can take care of both of them?" Awwwwwww! But, no.

Too cute! My daughter is dying for a sister, but I do not think I could handle another one.
Pulling & praying didn't work (big shock!) and neither did the pill.
I have an IUD now. So far, so good. Oh, and not having the energy for sex always help, too ;P
Definitely multiple methods here! My husband and I REALLY don't want kids yet. Not going to chance anything!

IUD for me. I switched from the pill after JK was born. I was sick and tired of having to take a pill each day. I didn't want to do that for the rest of my life so my doctor recommended the IUD. I was just saying to hubby last night, "Maybe we should have just one more...."
How precious is JBB?? I'm with you on it though... Couldn't be more done here. Multiple methods over here. He's been fixed; he had to have an ab.hernia repaired & I was like, hey, let's get a urologist in there while we're at it - ha! However, he was never checked and after a 6 week "delay" on my part a few months ago, I'm now on the pill...

I think you know my issues here... but For many years, we used the "pull out" and pray method... and it worked well.
Now I am freakishly, insanely, deathly scared to get PG again (hubby wants a boy).. I am on the ring still... going with out a period at all, and for the last couple weeks mental health has been good :)

my son is beggggging for a baby brother. I'm all for it, hubbie is not at all for it. I refuse to take the pill, gain too much weight. Hubbie REFUSES to get snipped and I absolutely REFUSE to get tied!! Condoms work, but I know when I am ovulating and that has worked for us!
Soooo Cute!! I actually got pregnant while on the pill!! Crazy, and completely unexpected. Turns out it happened to my Mother also, twice! So I am waiting until after the next one to get the hubby fixed :) We are currently trying to get pregnant.
I'm a ring gal (I wouldn't be able to remember the pill these days). We're on the fence with a 3rd.
When we are done...hubby will be getting snipped, since it's less invasive and less side effects. Also, I dealt with the birth control, pregnancies and birthing the babies -- he'll need to step up to the plate for that!

My oldest is constantly begging for another sibling. We are waiting for a few more months. I like to say we are using natural family planning.
We are currently in the reluctant prevention stage. I say reluctant because part of me wants one more (we have two), and part of me is terrified at that thought. And my husband thinks having a third is crazier than wishing for a third eye, so he's all about the prevention. I think if I got pregnant, I'd be excited, and if I don't I'll be okay with it (I hope). But we'll see.
That's fascinating about the Catholic hospital, though. Very interesting.
