Weekend Update

Whew! Let me tell you, it has been one busy weekend. Friday morning a dear friend from church fell from scaffolding and hit the back of his head on concrete. Scary. Friday night Hubby was at the hospital waiting for word, the kids were playing, and I was so nervous that I just paced around. And played online. And then paced around. And then played online. Thank you blog friends, reading you really calmed me. Fast forward to today after many scans and tests, he is home from the hospital with no major damage and orders to rest for 10 full days. Thank You to our gracious God.

Saturday I had an appointment at Portrait Innovations for pictures for the kids. For those of you who haven't been, imagine if McDonald's took kids pictures and you've pretty much got it. Their A/C was broken (90 degrees outside) and our photographer mumbled so badly that I kept having to ask him to repeat himself. That said, it is a good place to go for cheap, update-the-family pics. Here's one...

The kids were so good that I lavished their tummies (and mine) with the entire McDonald's menu. We took naps and then went to the pool. Today we had church, lunch, quick nap and back to the pool. After supper tonight (leftover KFC...I was nearly too tired to heat it up in the microwave), Pretty Girl fell asleep in her high chair and JBB fell asleep in my lap. Now they are settled in bed and I am curled up with the computer and watching Blue Collar Comedy Tour. Redneck heaven. Yee-ha!

Very cute picture. I never get around to getting portraits done (of our family or even just the girls)...hence the name Slacker Mama. But on the (rare) occaision that I do, I love them.

Maybe I'll try to do it soon.

So glad to hear that your friend is going to be okay. How scary!

What a beautiful portrait of you and the kids! I wish I could see it enlarged . . .

I keep telling DH that we should do a family pic with the Mad Hatter, especially since she likes to pose for the camera these days.

Note to self: get to work on making that appointment.

Thanks y'all for the comments! Fashion Herald, love the mention of the photo props! They even had an artificial beach scene with a fake sand "carpet." It was entertaining.
Rachael-I made the photo bigger. I so aspire to be tech savvy!

Oh my goodness Miss Lipstick...if this is the MickeyDee version of FamilyPhotoLand, I can't imagine how stunning they would be if some high-end establishment took them! You guys look beautiful! Yowza! And this is with no A/C...? I give up.
It is so good to read that your friend is doing so much better. I am always amazed at the thin and fragile line separating daily life from calamity and chaos. We are so blessed. Hopefully none of us melts in the next few days, or is blown away in the storms and things will calm down. Right.
Thank you for the updates, and especially for sharing the photograph.
