Show Me the Money!

Today JBB's school took a field trip to Build-A-Bear and to the Macaroni Grill for lunch. Tonight he explained the whole day to Hubby and me with lots of enthusiasm and phrases like, "and then....and then....and then" without pausing even to take a breath. Hubby and I listened intently, all the while sneaking smiles at each other and basking in the glow of adoration for our firstborn.

We the parents had the option to send extra money to buy an outfit for the bear. I am embarassed to say that JBB had extra money only because I didn't have exact change and was too late to get any. Well, I have learned my lesson...I will always plan to send extra on a field trip. I have never seen a child so excited to have a teddy bear dressed as Spiderman. That's the best money I've spent in a long time.

Apparently JBB's Friend only had enough extra money for the basketball player outfit (instead of the Spiderman). When the teachers tried to gently stear him away from the Spiderman to something more afforable, he said, "but I have to have enough money! My parents are both doctors!"

My son just built a bear (well it was actually the monkey) and got that same costume! He calls it his spider monkey. That sounds like a fun field trip.

OMG, that is hilarious. I'll bet the parents were mortified.

THAT IS AWESOME!!! What a smarty!
Speaking of Spiderman.. I interview a lot of people, and a question I always as is... "who is your hero and why?" The usual answers are Jesus Christ, mom, dad, grandparents... one girl said her hero was spiderman! I almost fell out of my seat and had to ask her "you know he is a cartoon character, right?"
